Information regarding the Mortgage Next Network.

 

Mortgage Next operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Mortgage Intelligence Holdings.

Mortgage Next was founded in 1996 as a mortgage club by Martin Maynard and Justine Tomlinson.  Mortgage Next then became a dedicated mortgage network in the run up to Mortgage Day in 2004 at which time it was the largest independent UK mortgage distributor in the UK..

 

In March 2004 the founders sold their controlling interest in Mortgage Next, then valued at £22,000,000 to Freedom Finance, (part of European Financial Solutions) but remained to over-see the managing of the business.

 

In 2009 Mortgage Next joined the Mortgage Intelligence Group under Mortgage Intelligence Holdings.  The previous owners of Mortgage Next bought Mortgage Intelligence but kept the management structure of Mortgage Intelligence to form a duel branded operation in order to appeal to a greater cross section of mortgage brokers. This move saw the closing of Mortgage Next former head office in Caterham and moving all operations to Bournemouth. Mortgage Next still operates its own proposition and brand under the new parentage.

European Financial Solutions (EFS) who are now the owners of Mortgage Next and is a part of JZ International, which is the European affiliate of private investment firm The Jordan Company, based in New York.

Sally Laker is the Managing Director of Mortgage Intelligence Holdings over-seeing both brands of Mortgage Intelligence and Mortgage Next. She is a high profile industry commentator and can be seen passing comment in many industry publications. With a career in Financial Services spanning over 30 years, Sally started life at Royal Insurance moving to Norwich Union and then Provincial specialising in their mortgage clubs.  Sally then Joined Mortgage Intelligence in 1996 and became Managing Director in 2000 taking up the overall running of the company when the founder of Mortgage Intelligence, Steve Royal stepped down as Chairman in 2001.

Mortgage Next Appointed Representatives’ at the time of writing are numbered at 159 according the Financial Services Association register, putting them just inside the top ten mortgage only networks in terms of numbers of firms but slightly behind their sister network Mortgage Intelligence.
